Arguments instead of authority - Digital Accessibility Issue 11-2024

Here you can subscribe to the free monthly newsletter on digital accessibility.

As in every profession, there are also authorities in digital accessibility, the gray eminences whose names you only have to mention for everyone to freeze in awe. However, these people not only have a lot of experience. They are often stuck in old patterns of thinking. The most recent example is the overwhelming rejection of AI or more automation in accessibility. You can be critical of these topics. However, we miss a fundamental openness to new approaches.

We believe that you have to question authorities. What we never want to hear is: X is right because Y said it. What we want to hear is X is right or wrong for this and that reason.
